Our Beautiful Hope

Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, "Before I formed you I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you . . ." -Jeremiah 1:5

Beautiful Angel

3 Generations of Gorgeous Women

Fun With Grandmom

We finally got her to sleep in that beautiful crib.

. . . But she didn't have to stay too long before Grandmom saved her.

Then Grandmom changed her . . .

Then Grandmom got to play with her.

A Mature Sense of Style

Okay . . .

but in her defense, how many women over the age of 2 would be caught dead leaving the house dressed like this???

See! She is just an early bloomer in the fashion department . . .

Full Tummy

If you look closely, you'll see a little bit of dinner running down the side of her mouth.

Is that the look of satisfaction?

PawPaw Looks a Little Choked-Up

Summertime

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But till that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing by

This One Will Be Saved Until Prom Night

I imagine the conversation will go something like this:

"Come in here, son. Nice tux; look sharp. Have a seat and don't mind the shotgun. Just set it in the corner, but be careful--its loaded."

"By the way, how fast would you say you can run? Why? O, just curious. Katlyn ever tell you I took down a gazelle at full speed last time I was in Africa?"

"Hey, Mom, why don't you bring out Katie's baby pictures and we can entertain Todd here with some stories . . ."

Picture Perfect Princess

Katlyn Grace is such a good baby . . .

I spent thirty minutes today changing her outfits and posing her for pictures.

It may not have been her idea of a good time, but she was very patient with daddy.

Besides, Winnie the Pooh is always a great friend to lean on for support when you are being photographed against your will.

Little Cupid

Grammy Janice made a huge impression on Katie's mom and dad when she showed up last week with "Coconut" the teddy bear sized like a ten-year old.

We were worried about room.

But that was before we discovered how great a babysitter Coconut could be.

And cheap.

Going to See the Doctor

We took her to see the doctor for the first time today.

He said she was in good health, great weight, nice color . . .

Did we have any questions, he asked.

Yes! How can we get her to sleep better at night so we can sleep?

Take an aspirin and call me when she's 13, he said.

Great. I think we gave birth to a vampire. (A beautiful one).

Going Home

She went home today.

Dad was scared as the day began . . .

Mom was scared as the day ended.

If we weren't scared about being parents, then I'm not entirely sure we would be doing right by her.

Beautiful Baby Girl

She came into our world by c-section on February 8, 2007, at 8:35 p.m.

I sat holding her mother's hand, praying with her, and waiting with baited breath to hear our child's first cry.

When we saw her--well, only a parent can understand that feeling. And no words can describe it.

And I sang to her in the surgery room . . .

"Blue skies and rainbows, sunbeams from Heaven, are what I see when my Lord is living in me . . . "

She had her all of her grandparents waiting to say welcome her, as well as a great grandpa. It was a crowded waiting room. It was a party.

Her birth was celebrated, as will be her life . . .

This is Katlyn Grace Moore.
